Webinar: Update on Express Scripts
Contract Pharmacies and Covered Entities are facing yet another round of restrictions and changes regarding the submission of 340B-eligible claims. Shortly after various manufacturer notices this past year, Express Scripts’ (ESI) updates, which went into effect Monday, March 1st, will govern what pharmacies in the pharmacy benefit managers network must do in order to identify a previously submitted claim as 340-eligible.
With these updates, the contract pharmacy will also be required to resubmit a claim to Express Scripts electronically, even after the Covered Entity has previously submitted the eligible claim. Covered Entities worry that these contract pharmacies are unaware of the update.
These 340B entities run the risk of being unable to access 340B pricing and drugs under contract pharmacy replenishment inventory systems and could potentially be billed a wholesale acquisition cost if they can’t or won’t comply with Express Scripts’ new requirements.
